AGS Recruits 2018 MLS Player Combine
The MLS 2018 Adidas Player Combine is right around the corner and in its midst are three of andGO Sport’s successful clients! The MLS Adidas Player Combine is a competitive showcase that selects a very small percentage of soccer players from around the country. Each player gets the opportunity to showcase their skills in front of representatives of all 23 MLS club teams.

This year, the Combine is being held in Orlando, Florida from January 11th-17th. Only 60 NCAA Division 1 collegiate players were invited to participate. Following the Combine, the players have the chance to be selected in the SuperDraft held on January 19th in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The stakes are high and the pressure is definitely on for these soccer players hoping to go professional!

First headed over to the Combine is midfielder Pau Belena from the University of Akron. Originally from Barcelona, Catalonia, he is a two-time All-Mid-American Conference honoree who earned his first-team status in 2016. In addition, he started for Akron in 21 out of 22 games on the campaign.

Next, Univerisity of Pittsburgh’s Pol PlanellasA native from Barcelona as well, he came to America as a midfielder and is a dynamic playmaker with great vision an creativity. Now, he is a senior defender for the team. Most importantly, he is an All-ACC Second Team selection who helped play a crucial part in Pitt’s 2017 season.

Last but not least is Jon Bakero, a forward at Wake Forest University originally from Sitges, Spain. In 2015, Jon became a third-team All-ACC honoree. In 2016 he became an NCAA College Cup All-Tournament Team honoree and an ACC All-Tournament Team honoree. Most importantly, he recently won the MAC Hermann Trophy making him the best men’s college soccer player of the year.

AndGO Sports is happy to have had the chance to help guide these soccer players to the next level. We wish them the best of luck as the MLS 2018 Adidas Player Combine approaches!
